The Magical Tea Mangrove

Have you ever seen a seed like this? This is actually scientifically called a Propagule, which means it is a germinating seed. This seed is so magical because it can drop and start growing almost immediately. Or it can float with the tides and currents for up to a year and plant itself somewhere else!

The tree that this seed creates is the Tea Mangrove (Mangle Piñuelo in Spanish or scientific name is Pelliciera Rhizophorae). It is an amazing tree with buttressed roots and many hiding spots for all sorts of creatures to live in. The flower of this tree is the white faced capuchin monkey’s favorite munchie.
